Janis Gosbee resides in Deep Bay, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Her academic, design and artistic endeavours span more than thirty years and include a Bachelor of Interior Design in the Faculty of Architecture from the University of Manitoba. Gosbee's work is a vibrant dialogue between perception, embodiment and emotion. Using acrylic and oil paints, she layers colour, texture and form to create large-scale artworks that evoke the essence of nature. Bold and gestural, Gosbee's canvases are lyrical, energizing and uplifting. Gosbee's canvases are collected privately and corporately across North America. Her work has been exhibited with the Federation of Canadian Artists on Granville Island, the juried Sooke Fine Arts Exhibit (2023) and the McMillan Arts Centre (2024).
