Katsumi Kimoto has thrived in the Vancouver art gallery world for the past 20 years as an artist, director, curator and gallery owner. The pandemic and a deep commitment to care for his elderly grandmother led Kimoto and his small family to relocate back to his home town of Ucluelet. With a BFA with Distinction from Concordia University in Montreal, QC and a Diploma in Visual Arts with Honours from Kwantlen College in Surrey, BC, Kimoto is an established artist who moves between abstract and representational. His deep love of the West Coast is conveyed on canvas and in mixed-media artworks, incorporating found objects and coastal elements.
