Sandra Froher

Abstract Painting | Victoria, BC, Canada

About the artist
Sandra Froher

Sandra Prest-Froher is a contemporary Indigenous Canadian painter, fashion designer and natural dyer who lives, works and plays on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. She was born in Terrace, BC and currently resides with her family in Victoria, BC. She is from the Stólō Nation and is a member of the Skwá First Nation in the Fraser Valley. Sandra’s range of mediums speak to a realm of hidden truths. She draws from ancestral memory, emotional instinct and reverence for Mother Earth, each informing her practice in painting and fashion design. Working with canvas, copper and cloth, her works bring alive the fundamental quest to express something personal, hinting towards freedom in a poetic, abstracted way.
